Items on left hand side:

Home – will take you to the home page
Contact – you can email jenvetnurse, or Dave webmaster
Submit Articles – you can submit your own news, stories whatever you like to be shown on the home page for everyone to read. You have to fill in a title and can add a poll to it – you preview it and then post it – it is relatively straight forward. We will check it and then publish it.
Stories search – this will take you to all the stories, news, articles which have been on the home page – listed per month.
Search - type in a key word and you can find what you are looking for.
Veterinary employees – this will take you to a database where you can register as an employee – fill in your cv for employers to view. Locums – there is a section at the bottom of the cv where you can post your requirements. We have many employers registered with us now. To make changes in your cv click update.
Veterinary employers–takes employers to the database where they can advertise the latest vacancies. Jobs advertised are either Veterinary or animal related for example there is one in there now for an animal hydrotherapies.

Veterinary Calendar – shows cpd courses all over the UK –
Vet Sales/Wanted – This classifieds section is where you can advertise items to sell – veterinary items or pet product – whatever goes. The wanted section is for members to post requests. It’s like a mini ebay section really.
Members list - this shows all registered members and allows you to send private messages to them if you wish.
Your Account this is your page – change info – will allow you to update all your information that you gave when registering. You can add a signature so that it comes up each time you post a message. You can add the url of your website. You can select an avatar so that you can have a little picture next to your name and you can click which ever buttons you like in the list – ie if you want your details kept private, if you want an email each time someone replies to your posts etc.
The messages section allows you to view, reply and delete any private messages you have received.
Pet Ecards – we have a selection of cards which you can send foc to your friends and colleagues. Simply hover over the list and the display changes to show the various cards. Some of the cards are of members pets. If you have a nice photo and wish to make it into an ecard simply let us know. Sending the ecards is easy – simply choose one, fill in the fields, preview then send.
Feedback – this allows you to give us your comments on Vetpro, ask questions etc.
We try to please everyone at Vetpro and will be happy to help you if you have an enquiry or just a comment. If you are asking about an animal though please use the forums – never neglect an animal waiting for a reply. We are not a substitute fro taking animals to the vets – that is not the idea. We will help, advise and give our opinions but that is all.
Recommend Us – If you were impressed with Vetpro you can use this section to tell others about it – you could then chat with them in the chat rooms. Spread the word.
Sign Vetpro Guest Book – self explanatory really. We like all members when registering to sign the guest book and introduce themselves in the forums.
Buy Goods this section shows you all the items you can purchase through Vetpro – various books, dvds etc.
Chat Rooms – you can go into the chat rooms which suit you and chat with others – the rooms are mostly empty at the moment but a vetpro members increase we expect the chat rooms to get busy. If you are on Vetpro – pop into a room and it will encourage others – no-one likes to be the first do they. I am sure there’s nothing to be scared of!
Photo Gallery – There are many titled albums – put your photos into the relevant one or create your own album. Albums include - members mugshots, veterinary photos, doting dogs, beautiful birds and more. To upload a photo it must be in jpg format. Follow the directions and do not interrupt while you are waiting for it to upload otherwise the photo will come out distorted. To add a photo click add photo and fill in the fields, press browse to navigate to where the photos are held on your computer. Once you have done it it’s quite simple – any problems let me know. I can always add photos on your behalf if you can’t do it. We would like members to add a photo of themselves into the members mugshots – don’t be shy! Why not go into the forums and tell us about the photos you submit – especially if the animals are rescued or are special in some way.
Re-homing – this section is where all animals’ details go when they are to be re-homed. The Cats Protection has many lovely cats here – so if you know of anyone who is looking for a pet please show them vetpro. If you are in-practice tell clients who have an animal they can no longer cope with to advertise them in Vetpro. The database is easy to use and there are lots and lots of animal’s details in there with contact information too.
Find my Nearest Vet – simply type in your post-code and find your nearest vet – if you know of a practice which has not been included let me know the details and I will add it.
Lost and Found – place details of lost and found pets here – again useful to tell clients in practice. Many cats sadly go missing and are never claimed. We always advise the use of microchips and there is some information about what to do if you have lost a pet.
Q & As - this section will be updated soon – and will have all the common questions asked and all the answers.
Cattery/Kennel Directory - this is a database with kennel and cattery information – if you know of one that has been omitted please email me the details so I can add them. We will be updating this section soon.
Forums – you can search the forums for unanswered posts, recent posts etc. Alternatively you can enter the forums and search – the first way is just a short-cut.
Web Links-here you will find many useful links to interesting sites – we have a mutual link to most of them. If you know of a good animal-related site which has been omitted you can add a link yourself. Personally whenever I visited a new site I always check out the links. There are some good sites out there – although of course not as good as Vetpro!
Downloads – here you can download a flyer to display in waiting rooms or where ever – the flier tells about Vetpro and is in A4 size. We will soon have screensavers and wallpaper too!
Stats – This is simply statistics relating to Vetpros progress.

Surveys – You will find all the surveys asked on Vetpro and can view the results.
Enhanced Webstats – This shows in detail who comes to Vetpro and where they are from.
Reviews- This is where we can review products/drugs. If you would like to recommend something please feel free.
Knowledge Base- We have a dictionary – just in case some-one uses a veterinary term that you are unfamiliar with and a database on different pet names. This section is to be updated and other items will be added in the future.
Legal Documents – This shows our disclaimer and just tells you some legal aspects of Vetpro.
Latest sections – These blocks show the last 5 cvs and the last 5 employers and the last 5 vacancies posted into the recruitment section.
Amazon – This is an affiliate scheme where items can be purchased – any profits help to run the site – web sites are not free unfortunately.
Top Vetpro Members – Here is a list of the people who have contributed the most to the site. If you regularly post into the forums and answer posts you will see you name here before too long. I would like some more moderators on Vetpro – as it is getting busier. Being a moderator simply means you have permission to answer all posts and earn privileges such as being able to check and add submissions, edit posts, etc. If you would like to be a Vetpro Moderator let me know. It can be rewarding and make you feel part of the site is yours too. We will listen to any new ideas/suggestions.

I think the right hand side and the top section is easy to understand – any areas omitted from the left are for admin only. I hope this guide helps you to understand Vetpro a bit more. Please do not hesitate to contact us if we can be of further assistance.
