An adult dog suffering from dermatitis was presented for treatment.
It was having severe itching, alopecia and blood was oozing out at several places from the affected skin. The animal was also getting weak day by day, according to the owner.
Upon careful examination and investigation, it was diagnosed to be suffering from Demodectic mange.
It was treated with Ivermectin, 20 mg orally weekly once (Tab Neomec, Intas Pharmaceuticals) for 4 weeks. The animal started showing considerable improvement within 10 days of treatment. On re-examination after four weeks, no dermatitis and itching could be detected. The hair had started growing normally on the affected skin.
