A few hedgehog facts for you...

• Their acute sense of smell guides them during the night – they can roam up to 2 miles each night.
• They can detect prey 3cms underground.
• They can weigh anything up to 1.5kgs.
• Hedgehogs are reasonable swimmers but are not great at climbing.
• They will eat snails, slugs, bees,snakes,mice etc.
• The biggest dangers are cars, foxes, dogs, jackdaws, owls and badgers.
• Most common ailments are pneumonia, loss of limbs, parasites, diarrhoea.
