Senior Pet Clinics
Posted on Saturday, June 16 @ 09:11:47 BST by jenvetadmin

dog with bone Does your practice offer senior pet clinics?
They are very useful and can help prolong lives by preventing disease and ensuring the owner is doing everything correctly ie correct diet etc. They also can generate good income for the practice.
Remember food companies happily give useful client info/discount food vouchers for senior pets.
This is an ideal list which a client should receive during senior pet clinic:
General health assesment and advice by a Qualified Nurse.
General profile blood test to pick up any underlying disease.
Information on common age related diseases and their symptoms.
Dental examination and advice on oral hygiene and how to prevent dental disease.
Diet assesment and the benefits of feeding specific diets related to their age/breed/general requirements.
Free nail trim.
Glucose urine tests to check for Diabetes Mellitus. Tear production test to monitor for dry eye. 10% Discount on blood 10% Discount on senior pet foods and dental care products.
Each senior pet should be checked every 3 months to monitor their progress. Also the vn builds a nice relationship with client and pet. Please add your comments/suggestions on this topic in the forums.
