Whenever I come across the domestic pigeons showing backward somersaulting and irregular flights, the disease condition that atonce strikes my mind is -- HEREDITARY ATAXIA OF PIGEONS.
It is a genetic disease of the young domestic pigeons controlled by recessive genes. The affected birds show incordination of gait and may fall forward or backwards while walking. Some birds are lucky enough to recover from this condition while some may die.
!!! The TUMBLER PIGEONS normally exhibit erratic flight behaviour!!!
