painandrelief writes " The moist dermatitis of rabbits that affects the external genital area and area inside the hind legs, known as HUTCH BURN ----- is generally caused by soiling of matted hair of this area with faeces and urine as a result of poor sanitation which further leads to secondary bacterial infections. It is also known as urine scalding. To prevent the condition, hutch floors should be kept clean and dry. The antibiotic ointment or cream should be applied to treat the lesions.
The moist dermatitis of the rabbits involving ventral aspect of neck is known as WET DEWLAP. Open water bowls, damp beddings, drooling saliva because of overgrown incisors etc. are the factors that lead to trapping of moisture in between the skin folds and secondary bacterial infections thereafter. The condition is mostly observed in female rabbits because of heavy skin folds on the ventral aspect of neck. If the greenish colouration is detected on the affected part, Pseudomonas infection must be suspected. Treatment involves removal of soiled fur and application of antibiotic cream or ointment. For prevention of this condition, predisposing factors should be removed or minimised."
