painandrelief writes "Incontinence of urine is commonly noticed in case of spayed bitches. The owners mostly come with the complaint of apparently involuntary dribbling by their spayed bitces.
The most common etiology of it may be the deficiency of Estrogen which causes structural changes in the uro-genital tract and also atrophy of mucosa of this tract. As a result there is decrease in the tone of sphincter muscles of urinary tract.
Another cause can be the adhesions that might occur between the stumps of resected out uterus and urinary bladder.
Along with these causes, other things like urinary tract infections & liths, systemic infections also involving uro-genital tract or lesions of central nervous system etc. are also to be kept in mind during investigation and treatment. "
